Only one week left to enter the IRE Awards

Among the most prestigious in journalism, the Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE) Awards recognize outstanding investigative reporting across all media, including print, TV, radio, and student work.

Increasingly, the Awards have celebrated data driven investigations. From the Chicago Tribune's piece 'Suffering in Secret', which used various databases and public records to uncover abuses of adults with disabilities, to a student-led investigation that documented voter disenfranchisement ahead of the 2016 election, and more.
This year, it could be your story. But the deadline to submit is fast approaching. To be in the running, entries must be received by 12 January 2018.
As with all years, the judges will be looking for pieces that show enterprise and excellence in documentation, data, storytelling, and production. You can explore past winners here.
