RAW Graphs

The missing link between spreadsheets and data visualization.

RAW Graphs is an open source data visualization framework built with the goal of making the visual representation of complex data easy for everyone.

Primarily conceived as a tool for designers and visualization geeks, RAW Graphs aims to provide a missing link between spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and OpenRefine, and vector graphics editors, like Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, and Sketch.

Graphs can be created in four simple steps: input data, pick a chart, customize, and export.

For journalists working with sensitive data, RAW Graphs provides assurance that it will be protected. Data is only every processed by the web browser and no server-side operations or storages are ever performed.

The tool also has appeal for both beginner and more advanced designers. The team has developed a range of pre-made charts, but you can also build your own models or charts using the RAW APIs.

Further, as you select charts and begin customizing, the tool provides real-time visual feedback. This means that as you adjust dimensions, your chart will automatically respond, providing an immediate means of exploring your data.

RAW Graphs allows you to export visualizations as vector (SVG) or raster (PNG) images and embed them into your web page. Since RAW Graphs produces semifinished visualizations, you can also open them in your favorite vector graphics editor and improve them.
