The 2016 Google News Lab Fellowship is now open for German, Austrian and Swiss data journalists
Google News Lab has opened a call for journalists from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to apply for its esteemed fellowship program.
The Google News Lab Fellowship program offers graduates and young professionals who share a passion for digital journalism and new storytelling forms the opportunity to implement innovative journalistic projects at a selection of 16 renowned media organizations.
The Fellows will begin the program with a one-day workshop at Google Germany in Hamburg to learn more about how the Google suite can be leveraged as digital storytelling tools. Then, the Fellows will get the chance to immerse themselves between September 2016 and February 2017 in a number of exciting projects being implemented by major outlets like Berliner Morgenpost, Spiegel Online, and Der Standard to name a few.

Fellows will receive a grant of up to 8,200 Euro to cover living and travel expenses incurred over the program’s eight weeks.
Applications are open until 22 August 2016 and selected candidates will be notified in the week of 29 August 2016.
