Your ticket to a global perspective on data journalism

How do data driven newsrooms differ in South America, compared to Europe? What are the latest visualization and graphic journalism methods? What are the emerging best practices in data driven journalism?

These, and many other questions, are discussed at journalism events across the globe. But the cost of travel can limit participation.

To help contribute to a more global discussion of data driven journalism and digital storytelling, OpenNews is currently offering tickets and travel scholarships for journalists to attend international technology events.

The scholarships cover $500 towards the cost of attending an event, as well as full coverage of the registration fee.

Applications are open to anyone who is part of the journalism code community such as developers, designers, and data analysts working in newsrooms, or anyone interested in learning more about the journalism code community.

The deadline for applications is 13 January, and successful applicants will be notified by 20 January.
